Students Review New Novel

We were delighted that two Croxley Danes students were able to review a newly published verse novel by award-winning author Coral Rumble. Rumble's new verse novel was published on June 1st and Year 9 students Lucy P and Bibi M from the Read Around the World Book Group, both poets themselves, were delighted to have the chance to send Coral their thoughts. Mrs Broadis, Literacy Coordinator explains, 'I won a Twitter competition to receive a copy of the book specifically for students to review. Our focus in our book group was to read a verse novel so this was perfect timing! I know Lucy and Bibi are both keen readers and write their own poetry, so they seemed natural reviewers to choose from our student body. I am really pleased that Coral was impressed with the maturity of their reflections.'  The verse novel will be put into the library and is recommended for readers aged 13+.
