  • Kooth: An online mental wellbeing community where you can chat anonymously with qualified counsellors, read articles by other young people, and keep a daily journal. It is free and works with the NHS.

  • The Mix: Support for under-25s on everything from mental health and relationships to money and exam stress. They offer a helpline, 1-to-1 webchat, and even short-term counselling.

  • Childline: You can call 0800 1111 or use their 1-to-1 online chat. They are available 24/7 and also have "Message Boards" where you can talk to other teens.

2. Information & Self-Help

  • YoungMinds: One of the UK’s leading youth mental health charities. Their website has great "how-to" guides on managing anxiety, depression, and social media pressure.

  • Every Mind Matters (NHS): Offers practical tips and videos specifically for young people on topics like sleep, dealing with change, and boosting your mood.

  • On My Mind (Anna Freud Centre): A site designed by young people for young people, featuring a "Self-Care" hub with over 90 strategies to help manage your wellbeing.

3. Mental Health Apps

  • Calm Harm: An award-winning app that provides tasks to help you resist or manage the urge to self-harm.

  • Clear Fear: Designed to help you manage the physical symptoms of anxiety through different "fear" types and coping techniques.

  • ThinkNinja: An app specifically for 10-18 year olds that uses CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to help you build resilience and manage your "inner mood."
