Boys show great perseverance in first football match

Having only been selected to play together as a team on Tuesday night, a squad of 15 boys turned out for the first match of the season: a hard fought match against Francis Combe Academy. Playing against the wind, the team quickly went two goals behind in the first half. In the second half, they found their feet and battled back strongly. Harrison Loshak scored with a smart finish and the team made a number of other chances but were unfortunate not to convert them. Congratulations to Finn Casselton who, with an outstanding defensive performance, was man of the match. Mr Watkinson was pleased with the boys' performance and Mr Thompson was proud of the manner in which they represented the school and congratulated the opposition afterwards. We look forward to many more fixtures as the season progresses.
