Annual Awards Ceremony 2022-23

At the end of last term, we were delighted to host our inaugural awards evening, a truly special event where we welcomed students, parents, staff, governors and trustees to join us in celebrating the excellence and achievements of our students over the past two years.

Over 100 students were recognised with prizes being awarded for attainment, achievement, community service and a whole myriad of sporting and other competitive successes.

After welcoming guests and speaking briefly about the history of Croxley Danes and the importance of school community, Mr Thompson spoke proudly about the excellent progress made by students at the school, shown not only by students’ GCSE results over the past two years but also through the many sporting achievements, charitable work and extra-curricular activities that take place.

The Junior Prize Giving Ceremony was presented by the Croxley Danes Chair of Governors, Mrs Judith Thorn, who spoke about the benefits of volunteering, which linked nicely with her role as a Governor. For our Senior Awards, it was a pleasure to welcome our guest speaker, the CEO of Danes Educational Trust, Dr Josephine Valentine OBE to present prizes to the students. Dr Valentine spoke passionately about the benefits of finding joy in learning.

Special thanks to our Head Students, Freya W and Yousuf S who addressed the guests to talk about their experiences at Croxley Danes and give thanks to our guest speaker. Thanks also to the Croxley Danes brass ensemble who entertained guests during refreshments.

Our first annual awards ceremony proved to be a memorable evening filled with pride and joy and it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to celebrate the successes of our students in this way. We look forward to making this special event an important tradition year on year.
