We were delighted to run two appeals this year in support of local families in the run up to Christmas - our annual food bank appeal for Watford Foodbank and the Christmas Gift Appeal for South West Herts Partnership.
Our food bank collection was a great success with a large amount of donations received from students and their families for Watford Foodbank, a trust that supports people in unfortunate and desperate situations who may be going hungry for a range of reasons such as redundancy or family breakdowns.
The total weight of food we donated amounted to 243 kg making Croxley Danes the second highest donors in the local and surrounding area. A fantastic effort by all, and one we are sure will make a big difference to local families this Christmas. We were proud to also support South West Herts Partnership Family Support Services this month, who were appealing for donations of gifts for children and families this Christmas who may be struggling due to the rising cost of living. Their hope is that every child and young person who is accessing their support and living in challenging circumstances will be able to receive a gift this year and enjoy the holiday. Thank you so much to our Croxley Danes families who were incredibly generous with their donations, these gifts will bring a lot of joy to local families.
