Croxley Danes School Council

Croxley Danes School Council met for the first time this year on the 14th of November. The School Council is the forum by which student representatives can voice their opinions and affect school decisions. Furthermore, it provides the opportunity for students to introduce new initiatives that will enhance our school and its community.

Students from all year groups were in attendance at the meeting, as well as Mrs Walke (Assistant Headteacher), and a range of issues were discussed including the school environment, facilities, rewards, trips, student welfare, revision opportunities and spaces to study. There was a positive and respectful feeling throughout the discussions which were led by our Year 13 Head Boy Yousuf and Head Girl Freya.

Following the meeting three priorities were decided upon for 2023-24 - the school environment, rewards and student welfare. Form groups will now be given time to discuss these issues over the next couple of weeks before their ideas will be taken forward to the Year Group Councils, which in turn will feed into the next School Council meeting in January.

It was a pleasure to see the enthusiasm of the students and we look forward to seeing their ideas making a positive difference to the school community over the coming months.
