The Duke of York Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award (iDEA)

We are delighted to announce that three of our Year 9 students Joshua Jacob, Dillon Borkhatria and Devan Borkhatria have achieved the Duke of York Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award (iDEA).

iDEA is an international programme that helps develop digital, enterprise and employability skills through a series of online challenges.

The following article was written by Joshua based on his experience so far,

Any Year 9 student can get this award if they try their best to complete a series of online challenges. The certificate we received, is presented by the Duke of York and Edinburgh. The certificate is approved and dispatched by Buckingham Palace! We have now passed the Bronze certificate and are working on completing the Silver certificate which is even harder and requires more effort and time. Year 9 students can achieve this certificate by gaining 250 points through digital badges, which are a set of online activities that can really help us all in the future. Some of the modules we had to complete were Teamwork, E-Safety, Coding, Businesses and even Animation to name but a few. It is worth collecting more points as the more points you collect and earn, the more skills you learn about life. I am really enjoying being part of iDEA and everything I have learnt so far, it has been extremely engaging and fun. I would highly recommend this scheme to anyone eligible!

Congratulations to the three students on this great achievement.
