15th DecemberA Special Hanukkah Celebration!
Yesterday we celebrated the Jewish winter festival of lights, with a Hanukkah candle lighting on the first day of Hanukkah - along with some delicious doughnuts provided by UJSix, The Union of Jewish Students’ schools programme. Hanukkah is marked by lighting additional candles each day for eight nights, this year until Monday 22nd December.
Students and staff even learnt the traditional Hanukkah song Maoz Tzur, Rock of Ages!
Given the attack on a Jewish community in Sydney Australia, celebrating Hanukkah this weekend, we reflected particularly about how we can bring light into the world.
