Deputy Lieutenants Inspire Year 12 Students at Croxley Danes Sixth Form

Last week, Croxley Danes Sixth Form had the honour of welcoming two of His Majesty’s Deputy Lieutenants, Karen Trew and Marion Brown MBE JP, to speak with our Year 12 students during their enrichment hour.

We were delighted that both Karen and Marion were able to share their knowledge and experiences, offering valuable insights into the Monarchy, the Lieutenancy, the Commonwealth, and the importance of Citizenship.

As Deputy Lieutenants, they serve in a voluntary capacity, with a key aspect of their role being to recognise and celebrate the contributions of volunteers across the country. This message strongly resonated with our students, as volunteering is a central part of the Croxley Danes Sixth Form Award—an initiative our sixth formers are committed to throughout the year.

The talk was both inspiring and informative, sparking thoughtful discussion among the students. Our newly appointed Head Students were particularly grateful to receive personal advice on leadership and teamwork, which they found both motivating and empowering.

We extend our sincere thanks to Marion and Karen for giving so generously of their time and for sharing their wisdom with our school community.
