13th OctoberCelebrating Diwali: Croxley Danes Students Shine at Community Event
We were delighted to take part in the Croxley Green Parish Council’s annual Diwali event at Yorke Mead School on Saturday, marking our third consecutive year of involvement. This wonderful community celebration of the Festival of Lights brought together cultural performances, delicious food, craft stalls, and family activities, culminating in a procession to Croxley Green Library for the annual tree lighting.
This year students from our school Hindu Society represented Croxley Danes exceptionally well. Audience members were treated to a beautiful dance routine by Amaira H (Year 8) and Amayra G (Year 9), as well as an inspiring speech from Sreshta K (Year 9). Highlights also included two of our poetry competition winners, Pahal G (Year 9) and Avyukt B (Year 8) who delivered a poem to the crowd.
This was a fantastic community occasion, and we are so proud of our students for their brilliant contributions. Well done to everyone involved, and a special thank you to Mrs Tokeira for coordinating our participation.
The Croxley Danes Hindu Society is run by Mrs Tokeira and meets every Tuesday lunchtime (Week A).
