Inter-House Dance and Basketball

Yesterday saw the first Inter-House sports competition of the year, with the girls taking part in House Dance and the boys in House Basketball. The competition was stiff but Snells emerged the eventual winners in the Basketball and Cassiobridge in Dance.

The Basketball saw a number of matches played between the forms, with boys swapping in to ensure that all took part. There were some excellent performances and a tense finish with Jack Watson scoring the winning basket right on the whistle.

Results, after the round robin stage were as follows:

Semi Finals:

Snells vs Cassiobridge (Snells won 10-2)

Gonville vs Jaggerts (Jaggerts won 2-1)

3rd / 4th place play off:

Gonville vs Cassiobridge (Gonville won 7-2)

1st / 2nd place play off:

Snells vs Jaggerts (Snells won 8-7)

Overall:

  1. Snells
  2. Jaggerts
  3. Gonville
  4. Cassiobridge

The Dance competition, judged by the PE staff and Mr Thompson, saw each form performing a dance they had choreographed themselves. As well as choosing the winning House, merits were also given by the teaching staff for Sarah Thorn, Lilia Sullivan, Zahra Khan, Katie Cardy, Jia Hirani, Eloise Garlick, Emily Welch, Layla Munday and Maria Godfrey who received effort awards. The choreographers for each House also gave awards for girls who tried hard both on the day and in the lead up to the competition. These were awarded to Bianca Stanciu, Scarlett Simmons, Alba Toska and Breeanna Chambers. Well done to all who participated and a huge thanks to the PE staff for putting on such enjoyable competitions.
