16th AprilFirst student-led assembly celebrates Diwali
In another first this morning, students Jia and Dhara were the first to stand in front of their peers to deliver a fascinating assembly on Diwali. They had prepared a powerpoint, showed a video of how to make Rangoli patterns and ended by inviting the students to look at the display of articles they had brought with them relating to the Festival of Light. As Mr Thompson said at the end, we hope this will be the first of many assemblies taken by students sharing an aspect of their faith or culture with the rest of the community and wish all our Hindu students and their families a very happy few days of celebration.
