On Thursday 30th September, a strong turn-out of internal Year 11 students and their parents attended an introductory talk on the new Croxley Danes Sixth Form offer for entry in September 2022.
Mr Thompson spoke passionately about the incredible journey the students have taken since the school first opened its doors to Year 7 in September 2017, before introducing Mr Dwight as an experienced Head of Sixth Form ready to assist the students on to the next important stage of their educational journey.
Mr Dwight guided the audience through what an excellent Sixth Form sets out to do and how the Croxley Danes Sixth Form will be at the heart of the school community. Students were guided about specific research they should begin to undertake to carefully select their A-Levels and alternative qualifications, due to the impact this can have on future career pathways.
Mr Dwight also launched the Croxley Danes Sixth Form Award, a dedicated certificate that will place students in a wide range of enrichment activities and celebrate their position as the very first cohort to enter the new Sixth Form. The timeline of support throughout Year 11 was given including notice of the full Sixth Form open evening for internal and external applicants that will take place on 2nd November 2021, 6:00pm. Mr Thompson concluded by stressing the strong recruitment of teachers that has already taken place so that students will have experienced teachers delivering their A-Levels and alternative qualifications.
